Before creating a site, some detail planning needed to be done to ensure the correct structure is being setup. Please read xxx for concept on how a site should be structured.
JadaSite is installed with a site called default. This is to help you to get a simple site setup as easy as possible with only one sub-site. This sub-site is configured with one language and one currency.
Alternatively, you can create a new site with one or more sub-sites. Each sub-site can have multiple language and multiple currencies.
Create a site
Create a new site via Administration - site and clicks new. Enters the following information and press save.
Site id - Unique id for the site.
Description - Description for the site.
Shipping type - I am thinking about only shows this field when the site is created.
Active - Determine if the site is active.
Manage inventory - If managed inventory is turned on, items can only be sold if there is inventory. System will also maintain inventory once the item is sold.
Share inventory - Considering disabling this field for now. It will be a feature in the future.
Single check-out - If there are more than one sub-site configured, this field tells the system weather all sub-sites are using the same shopping cart. If single check-out is enabled, system will be using language and currency information configured for the master sub-site.
Mail outgoing SMTP host - SMTP server address.
Mail outgoing SMTP port - SMTP server port. If not specified, port number will be defaulted to 25.
Mail outgoing SMTP account - Account name to be used when connecting to SMTP server. Leave it empty is authentication is not required.
Mail outgoing SMTP password - Password to be used when connecting to SMTP server if authentication is required.
This field contains sensitive information and is not displayed. Enter a value if change is required. Enter a space if this field is to be cleared. Otherwise, leave this field as blank and existing value will not be altered.
Once you have created the site, you should navigate to the home page and switch to the new site. This is to ensure all subsequent configuration is done on this newly created site. To switch to the new site, clicks Home on the menu. Selects the newly created site from the drop down box under 'Switch to another site'.
Maintaining languages and currencies
Sites are associated with language and currency profiles. When a site is created, it is always created with a default language profile with Engine as the language and a default currency profile with USD as the currency.
JadaSite comes with English language pack. New language can be added when required.
To add a new language, clicks Administration -> Language. Enter the following information as clicks save.
Language name - name of the new language.
Locale - Locale of the new language.
Google translate language - The google translate language to be used when converting from English to this newly defined language.
Once translated, clicks translate to allow google translate to perform the initial translation. This translation is performed as a best effort basis and it is expected some human intervention is required.
Add site profile class
To maintain additional language for a site, creates a new site profile class via Administration -> Site profile class. Enters the following information before save.
Site profile class name - Name for this site profile class.
Site profile native name - This is the name of this site profile class in its native language. This value will be used on the frontend in the dropdown that prompts the user for the profile that they like to see. For example, you can have Spanish as the site profile class name. In this case you probably wants to set this field as Espanol.
Language - The language to be used for this profile.
Template - The template to be used for this profile.
Add site currency class
To add a new currency, creates a new site currency class via Administration -> Site currency class. Enters the following information before save.
Site currency class name - Name for this site currency class.
Locale - specify how the currency should be formatted.
A site has one or more sub-site. When a site is created, a sub-site, localhost, is automatically created. To configure the sub-site, select the newly created site via Administration -> Sites. Once you are on the Site Maintainence screen, clicks on sub-site localhost. Enters the following information and clicks save.
Site domain description - The name of the site and is feed to the template. Visitors see this name on the site.
Site public domain name - Domain name for the public site and is important for determining if the incoming request is for this site. It should be in the format of www.jadasite.com.
Site public URI prefix - Prefix to be used in the URI to identify the domain. This value is required to be unique across all subsites.
Site public port number - f not specified, port number will be defaulted to standard port 80.
Enable SSL secure connection - Select this option when SSL is required when performing secure transactions in the public site. Once selected, SSL will be used when user perform checkout transaction and viewing their account information.
Site secure port number - If not specified, port number will be defaulted to standard port 443.
Active - Determine if this subsite is active.
Section page size - Number of entries to be shown per section page.
Public site footer - Footer to be used on public site.
Site Logo - Logo to be shown on the public site. The acual placement is determined by the template selected. Clicks Option -> Upload to upload new image. Clicks Option -> Remove to remove the uploaded image.
Password reset mail form - Specify the 'mail from' address when delivery password to user during password reset.
Password Reset email subject line - Specify the subject line of the email to be sent
Customer sales confirmation email from - Specify the 'mail from' address when sending the sales confirmation email.
Customer sales confirmation email subject line - Specify the subject line of the email to be sent.
Sales notification email - Automatic generate email to this address once a sale is completed. Leave it blank if no automatic email is required.
Sales notification internal email from - Specify the 'mail from' address when sending the sales notification internal email
Customer sales notification internal email subject line - Specify the subject line of the email to be sent.

Authorization mode - User can selects 'Authorize only' or 'Authorize and Caputre'. Authorize only means credit card transaction is only authorized during checkout. Transaction needs to be captured during order processing. Authorize and capture means credit card transaction is authorized and capture at the same time during checkout.
Shopping cart message - Message to be shown at the bottom of every page during check-out process.
Maintaining site profiles
Each sub-site has one more more site profile. New site profiles can be added by clicking Options -> Add just besides Profile label on the sub-site mainenance screen. Site profiles can also be removed by clicking on the checkbox besides the site profile that should be removed and clicks Options -> Remove. To maintain information for the site profiles, update the following information and clicks save.
Profile - Selects the site profile class from the drop down box.
Sequence - Enters a number value to sequence the profiles when presented to the visitors. These profiles are shown as a drop down box on the frontend for visitors to select their language of perference.
Active - Indicate if this site profile should be used.
Maintaining site currencies
Each sub-site has one more more site currency . New site currencies can be added by clicking Options -> Add just besides Currency label. Currencies can also be removed by clicking on the checkbox besides the currency that should be removed and clicks Options -> Remove. To maintain information for the currencies, update the following information and clicks save.
Base currency - Selects the site currency class as the base currency.
Currency - Selects the site currency class from the drop down box.
Sequence - Enters a number value to sequence the currencies when presented to the visitors. These currencies are shown as a drop down box on the frontend for visitors to select their currency of perference.
Exchange - The exchange rate relative to the base currency.
Payment Gateway - Selects the payment gateway definition to be used for this currency.
PayPal - Selects the paypal definition to be used for this currency.
Active - Indicate if this currency should be used.
Adding / removing subsite
To add a sub-site, select the newly created site via Administration -> Sites and clicks on Options -> Add sub-site. Fill in the required information and clicks save. You will then be taken to subsite maintenance screen.
